Bespoke Olympia le Tan Book Clutch honors the 75th Anniversary of the Brentwood Country Mart and the 25th Anniversary of Country Mart Tenant, Capitol
Los Angeles, CA — Capitol, an internationally renowned retailer founded by Laura Vinroot Poole in Charlotte, North Carolina, is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year—opening in the Brentwood Country Mart nearly 5 years ago is a critical milestone in the luxury boutique’s trajectory. To honor the Brentwood Country Mart’s 75th Anniversary, its incredible community of patrons and staff, and owner Jim Rosenfield’s preservation of this iconic landmark, Capitol collaborated with french brand Olympia Le Tan to create an exclusive, hand-embroidered book clutch.
This custom design highlights the Brentwood Country Mart Post Office, which has been part of the Mart since its inception in 1948, and the shopping center’s quintessential board-and-batten exterior. Rosenfield’s ’71 Mercedes parked out front offers a personal touch while the “CA1948” license plate references the year the Mart opened.

I never dreamed of opening a second location, but when Jim Rosenfield approached us I knew this was an opportunity we had to take. Nearly 5 years later, we feel like we have been part of this special community for decades. Together, the Brentwood Country Mart and Capitol will launch this exclusive Olympia le Tan book clutch at the iconic Post Office and in-store and online at Capitol on November 16th. The collaboration will also be featured in Capitol’s third annual holiday catalog, The Dream Book, launching on the same date.

Each clutch is hand-embroidered (a process which can take up to 300 hours) and only 12 clutches will be produced.

About The Brentwood Country Mart
The Brentwood Country Mart, designed by architect Rowland Crawford and built by the Baruch Corporation, opened on November 18, 1948. The red-board structure evokes early American and English country marketplaces, with shops and stalls arranged around a central courtyard.
Existing establishments such as the Barber Shop, the Post Office and the Shoe Repair remain to provide exceptional service for the community. Meanwhile, fashion heavy hitters like Capitol, goop, Jenni Kayne, Clare V., and more thrive alongside restaurants ranging from farm-to-table darling Farmshop to local-adored Reddi Chick.
In today's world of mega-stores and mega-malls, the Brentwood Country Mart feels cozy, familiar and is a place where it is easy to shop. The Brentwood Country Mart has been renovated and restored by JS Rosenfield & Co, which specializes in the preservation of unique California environments.
About Olympia le Tan
Founded by Gregory Bernard and Olympia Le-Tan in 2009, the brand reimagines classic book covers and art, into coveted artisanal clutches and accessories. From the original hand embroidery to the Liberty-printed lining, every detail is carefully considered.
Shipping & Delivery
ORDER PROCESSING
For online orders and in-store pick ups, please allow 24-48 hours for processing. Once an order is processed, you will be notified by email with a tracking number or when your order is ready for pick up at our store location.
SHIPPING
Shipping rates are determined at checkout based on the selected shipment method and zip code entered. These are calculated rates from our shipping provider and cannot be adjusted. A valid tracking number will be provided after an order shipment has gone out. If you do not receive one, please reach out to info@shop-capitol.com.
Currently, we do not offer international shipping from the U.S.
DELIVERY
Once an order is shipped out from the store, CAPITOL is no longer held responsible for any missing, lost, stolen, or damaged packages. When an order is received, we carefully examine each item to ensure it is in new condition before sending out an order. We also carefully package the merchandise to ensure it will arrive undamaged.
If you find that your package is missing, lost, stolen, or damaged, we strongly encourage you to reach out directly to the shipping carrier and file a claim using your provided tracking number. Once a package leaves our store, we are unable to accept any claims made against the package.

CAPITOL understands that returns happen. We ultimately want you to be happy with your purchase. Below you'll find our online and in-store return/refund policies.
ONLINE RETURNS POLICY
We will happily accept online returns for regular price, unworn, unwashed, unaltered merchandise. Returned item(s) must be postmarked within 7 days of delivery to the provided shipping address. Original invoice must be included.
Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping. Once the item is received at our store location, it will be processed for a refund if policy criteria are met.

INITIATING ONLINE RETURNS

Log in to your account.
In the Email field, enter your email address, and then click Continue.
In your email account, open the email sent from our store and copy the six-digit verification code included in the email.
Go back to the online store, and then enter a six-digit verification code.
Find the order that you want to submit the return for.
Click the Return Request button.
If your order has more than one item, then select the items that you want to return.
Select a return reason and add a note for the store.
Click Request return.
If your return request is approved and requires shipping, then you receive an email with shipping instructions. After the product is returned, you receive a refund if return criteria are met.
IN-STORE RETURNS POLICY FOR ONLINE ORDERS
We will happily accept in-store returns for online orders of regular-price, unworn, unwashed, unaltered merchandise within 7 days (24 hours for fine jewelry) from the date the package was delivered to the shipping address provided. Original invoice must be included.
